A Monk That DJs… What Is His Name?

This is interesting, i found this on yahoo.com answers:

About a month ago, maybe longer, I read an article about a monk who came up with a new style of music: Lotus Beats. The picture for the article showed a monk in red, holding a laptop, looking up to the sky (maybe) with his eyes closed; or something similar. I sampled all the music and it’s AMAZING! Now I can’t find it. I thought his name was Phaezer/Pheazer 1. I have to have that album!!! Someone please help!!

Here’s something I found out about a German guy from New Zealand named Peter Haeder aka Phaeder. He’s not a monk, but he is a Buddhist. Here is a website where he is interviewed…

pretty interesting music…I like listening to Banco de Gaia myself and Roni Size. Some of Phaeder’s music sounded like a mix of the two.
I think he’s the one cause he has an album called “Lotus Beat” released in 2004. There’s a pic of a monk w/ headphones on holding a laptop. He has like 5 allbums.

How cool! And now LOTUS BEAT 2 IS COMING…

Retro Engine Mandala 1b

must be one of the longest trance tracks i have ever written, only it’s not trance! It is something else, a mix of a powerful V8 driven by a divine being or something like that…

A kind of electronic, retro techno house, yeah?
And than the engine blows up, i mean really full kaboom kinda intense… Avantgarde House.

The interesting thing is i think it still has all that freshness of a first cut, kinda raw with the excitement of the freshly laid down base track and a couple of layers, but then it’s also refined in northern classical kinda way, like Bach.
Sounds crazy doesn’t it?
Why don’t you try it for size and let me know?
