Unborn It’s been a while since my last post and lot has happened:
i moved back into my house with my partner and we are living out of boxes still. The Shabda project is taking off and we are getting a group together for this fabulous pamper and energy reset weekend in June! And of course i have to replace my old Behringer 2348 mixing console with something a bit more up-market so i can record clean again. i feel like doing more chanting and vocals at the moment, so there will be more ambient music coming out of phaeder.com. Keep your ears peeled.
have a great weekend all

Unborn Come on, who is into Trance and has not watched “Dune” many time s over, except for the young-lings, lol?
Mentat Piter De Vries holding the flask up and citing the Mantra:
” It is by will alone i set my mind in motion,
it is by the juice of sapho that thoughts require speed,
the lips require stains,
the stains become a warning!
It is by will alone i set my mind in motion.”

Robert Fripp’s New Standard Tuning
The reason why this link comes first is of course the fact that i wrote ‘Q’ in the “new” standard tuning, which in all likely hood is not gonna be a standard, guitarists are lazy, lol. And if you click on John de Lancie’s picture it takes you to his biography, because he is a highly under-rated actor!
So i wrote this composition for the GitBox Rebellion years ago in this new tuning, that Robert Fripp invented in a sauna… The GitBox performed ‘Q’ up and down the country to standing ovations, but we had a disagreement, so i recorded it myself and it got released on Rattle’s compilation of “Different Tracks” as the opening piece.
The composition is complex and moves in multiple time signs and keys, some of them uneven, like 5/8, 7/8, 9/8 and so forth, in fact it opens in 5/8 and progresses from there. That being so because a ‘Q’ is an omnipotent being that freely roams the universes and probably (so i theorised then) has a taste for abstract and off the wall kinda shit.
The cool thing about it is though, that it always flows and glides and stays melodic and has a humour about it, even when it gets rocky and hard, and the ending is wow….

Unborn Going through my vast back catalogue of electronica recently, i found four recordings i did in the late 90s with lots of analogue bass and FM synths.
They have a spiraling, gyrating quality, mostly sequencing and sound very Teutonic. Suffice to they are based on four journeys in alien craft, the Third Reich Haunebu I-IV.
Haunebu IV was never built (so they say…)
but then again the Americans claim the jet engine, but he first jet plane was the Messerschmidt 262, right?
They were to go into a trance project, but then life got i nte way of art and i moved a few times, chnaged studio setup, lost audio data bla bla bla…
Opening that old box and there they were, on DAT. I put them on and thought:”Fuck me Freddy!”
Played them to an old friend who digs this kinda stuff, being worried that the quality is not so hot in comparrisson with whats happening now in electro, but he just said:” Don’t worry about hat, this is cool shit, people gotta hear it.
So there you go…
So i rip them in 320 MP3 and FLAC loss-less so you can download and enjoy for free!
Hopefully this weekend
